About this property
Farriers is an incredible find. A peaceful hideaway surrounded by stunning countryside in the very midst of the wonderful Peak District. The dramatic lounge with its vibrant colours and sumptuous suite, the more gently decorated bedroom with its luxurious king-size bed, the classy 'state of the art' shower room and the breathtaking views all combine to make this a fantastic cottage on the edge of picturesque Ilam.
There is something almost mystical about the countryside as you drop over the edge towards the village. Craggy Dove Dale with its famous stepping stones, Lovers Leap and Jacob's Ladder runs off to the right. Manifold Valley with its Paradise Walk and amazing vanishing river is just as close. Follow the River Dove down to the historic market town of Ashbourne with its lovely country town shops, cafes, restaurants and many a pub.
The moment you get to the cottage you will want to be off exploring the numerous local walks before lunch in the nearby Izaak Walton Hotel or a pie and a pint in the 'Old Dog' in nearby Thorpe. But when you hang up your walking boots remember that all Derbyshire's attractions are close at hand from Chatsworth House and Bakewell to Carsington Water, Crich's Tramway and even Alton Towers!
Cottage facilities:
A really attractive open plan lounge and dining area with sumptuous suite, table and chairs, T.V., DVD, Freeview, Wi-Fi, glowing flame effect electric fire and lovely countryside views. A well fitted galley kitchen with induction hob, microwave oven, separate microwave and fridge. A beautiful double bedroom with 'French style' king size bed and the same amazing views. A classy shower room with large corner shower and W.C.
Linen and towels are provided. Under floor heating, central heating and power are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a patio area with furniture. Parking is available. A small pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted. Easy walking access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details.
Weekly bookings are normally Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
