This magnificent, semi-detached holiday home sits in the charming market town of Lymington, walking distance from the beautiful New Forest. At the western end of The Solent and the southern border of the New Forest National Park, the beautiful market town of Lymington is located on the west bank of the Lymington River. In addition to being a popular sailing destination, there are frequent ferry connections to the Isle of Wight. You might treat yourself to a dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants, or you can browse the town's many unique boutiques and craft stores. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounds Lymington, ranging from the heathlands and historic woodlands of the New Forest to the coastal nature reserves that stretch about five miles and stop at the shingle spit where Henry viii's Hurst Castle, completed in 1554, is located. From Lymington, it is possible to go to the New Forest, the Isle of Wight, and the Hampshire coast.

Our boys and dog thoroughly enjoyed the spacious house and garden, in particular. The house was very comfortable & there was everything we needed & more in the kitchen. On our first day we found that the television in the snug didnât work. It switched off intermittently & the next morning unfortunately did the same. The contact number given by Sykes was for a company that looks after the property on behalf of the owners. My husband left a message, but didnât hear back so had to chase them up later in the day. We were told someone would go round to look at the television the following day. Having returned to the house we were unable to tell whether anyone had been in, so again rung that company. They said they spoke to the maintenance person who thought the tv probably needed replacing. Theyâd also spoken to the owners, who said theyâd been there the previous week & it was working ok then. We were asked to video what happens to the television, which we did & this was emailed to that company again. We never heard back from them or the owners, so felt the duty of care was lacking. Having a second television wasnât the end of the world, but it meant one room in the house couldnât be used, as intended. Our biggest disappointment was in having to spend part of our holiday chasing up an issue & not getting it resolved. It would also have been nice to have heard from the owners at some point, even if only to apologise for the inconvenience. We understand that they arenât local, so you lose an element of personal touch but at least this issue wasnât anything major.

The downsides were: a high step from a slope to the front door step with no handhold very limited space in both bathroom and WC low headroom when using the stairs - we have bruises as mementoes. We would have preferred the privacy of net curtains or similar in the bedrooms.
