An utterly charming cottage decorated in a totally appropriate style reflecting the seafaring traditions of the busy harbour at Whitstable
Oyster House is a charming cottage on the corner of a terraced row of cottages in a quiet situation opposite the harbour at Whistable. It has been thoughtfully decorated to reflect the nautical character of the town which is famous for its oyster beds. The floorboards throughout the cottage are painted in appropriate subtle shades and there are many pictures and decorative touches that evoke a seaside atmosphere. The historic harbour is home to a colourful fishing fleet that brings fresh seafood daily to the fish market and the acclaimed Crab and Winkle Restaurant above. Whitstable is a delightful base from which to explore the Kent coast, the magnificent city of Canterbury and the Turner Contemporary at Margate is well worth a visit.
