This fabulous detached house is situated in the village of St. Margaret’s at Cliffe, in Kent. Until 2012, this lovely cottage was the St. Margaret's at Cliffe fire station and has been lovingly converted into a stunning holiday home where couples, friends and families can enjoy space and relaxation in style and stay close to walks, pubs, beaches and easy drives to popular historic towns. Retaining the original frontage, now one wall of the sitting room, this fabulous cottage offers a light, spacious, contemporary feel with a high quality finish. Three large double bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities, and a single bedroom make it a perfect choice for extended families looking to holiday together without getting under each other’s feet! The huge open plan living area reminds guests of its former use, with a ceiling high enough to accommodate a fire engine, now just the place to setting down to enjoy a DVD and a glass of wine after a day exploring The White Cliffs of Dover or a swim in the sea. Preparing a picnic or eating breakfast is made even more appealing when doing so in the well-equipped kitchen, with its central island and breakfast bar. There is also a double oven, so cooking a special dinner for two or a celebratory meal for the whole group can be prepared. There is a large dining area with French doors leading to a rear, enclosed lawned area, a safe and secure garden with access via a locked side gate. Why not try your hand at fishing for your supper, bring it back to barbecue as the sun sets over the garden, while you share your day with those around you? With so many interesting places to visit around the area of St. Margaret's at Cliffe, your days will be full to overflowing, and the coastline here is often the location for the start of a cross Channel swim. Take long walks across fields and along footpaths, try beachcombing along the shoreline, and then stop off for a pub lunch on your way to visit the historic towns of Deal or Dover, both with castles to clamber over. The Old Fire Station at St. Margaret's at Cliffe is the perfect holiday home at any time of year.

St Margaret's at Cliffe has long been a holiday hideaway and during the years has been home to many famous people including Noel Coward, Peter Ustinov and Ian Fleming. Some of the Bond books were indeed writen while Fleming was staying at his home in St Margaret's at Cliffe. It is believed he gave his character James Bond agent number 007 after the number of the bus that still runs between London and Deal. At one end of St Margaret's Bay there are a few cottages, two were owned by Fleming, one of which was rented to Noel Coward, the cottages are still there looking out over the English Channel. The coastline above the beaches are The White Cliffs famous throughout history as the a defence against invaders and often seen in films as the first glimpse of English shoreline.
