The bright and beautiful home is ideal for multi-generational groups with plenty of room for socialising and entertaining, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests across its four beautifully-appointed bedrooms. On the ground floor is the main open-plan living space comprising a large sitting room with log burner; dining room with seating for eight; games room and hall with a pool table; and the kitchen with all the appliances and tools you could possibly need, and a small breakfast bar. All the downstairs rooms have large bifold doors letting in endless light and enabling guests to enjoy the stunning countryside views. Upstairs on the first floor are the four bedrooms, a master with king-size bed and additional day bed if needed and en-suite shower room, and another double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. The two remaining bedrooms have double beds and share a family bathroom.
Outside, after action-packed or lazy days spent exploring the West Country in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with of his historic sights and stunning walks, the whole group will enjoy gathering outdoors, enjoying a delicious meal al-fresco, and watching the sun set over the distant hills. The large grounds offer plenty of room for the whole family to enjoy games.
Vista House is situated in an officially designated "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”. The house is less than 5-minutes from the village of Lambourn in “the Valley of the Racehorse”. Many excellent shops, and pubs can be found nearby, and in the local market towns of Marlborough and Newbury, both a 30 minute drive away. Both Hungerford and Swindon are on railway main lines, and are a 30 minute drive away.
Vista house is in the middle of stunning walks and trails, and is a ten-minute drive from the Ridgeway National Trail which stretches from Avebury in Wiltshire to Tring in Berkshire - a destination for walkers, hikers and mountain bikers.
There is plenty to see, do and explore in the surrounding area. Highclere Castle, a must visit for any fans of Downtown Abbey, is just 30-minutes away. Weyland Smithy, Avebury and Stonehenge are all within an hours drive. Some of the most iconic towns and villages of the Cotswolds are reachable within an hour’s drive, including Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cirencester. Families will enjoy a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens which is home to over 260 species of animals and just 45-minutes away. Oxford itself, best known for its prestigious university, is less than 50-minutes away. The beautiful county of Wiltshire is also easily reachable, with the historic city of Bath a little over an hour away.
