The perfect holiday home to visit Shoreham Beach, Brighton, The South Downs and wider areas of Sussex and beyond. An easy 5-minute stroll will bring you to the centre of Shoreham-by-Sea which sits on the estuary of the River Adur which flows out to sea right next to the town. There are some lovely pubs one which is positioned right on the river front. Numerous cafés and restaurants are available, including La Galleria and the irresistible La Patisserie. Head over the Adur Ferry Bridge to Shoreham Beach; its vegetated shingle is an internationally rare habitat and has been made a local nature reserve. From here a 20-minute walk east along the beach will bring you to the harbour at the head of the peninsula where you can explore Shoreham Fort dating back to 1857. Walking west will bring you to Brighton City Airport with its striking Art Deco terminal building housing a brilliant café to while away hours while watching light aircraft taking off and landing. The flight school often presents the chance to see helicopters performing dramatic manoeuvres just above the ground which is quite a sight.

If you are bringing bikes The Downs Link is a picturesque 37-mile cycle and walking route between Shoreham and Guildford. It follows an old railway line so is mostly flat and suitable for adults and children alike. Rightfully known as a great destination for walkers, the South Downs Way passes just north of Shoreham and allows you to walk or cycle east towards the immense views at Devil’s Dyke and Ditchling Beacon. There are also excellent local routes to Chanctonbury Ring, a picturesque ring of trees atop the Downs and beyond to the Iron Age hill fort at Cissbury Ring. From the top there are outstanding panorama views towards the sea at Shoreham and beyond to Brighton.

Head 5 miles east to the vibrant city of Brighton where fine dining restaurants, concert and theatre venues, the Royal Pavilion, i360 The Lanes and a cornucopia of colour awaits.
