About this property

Molehill Cottage is a homely, semi-detached cottage resting in the heart of Tintagel, Cornwall. Just a stone's throw away from King Arthur's Castle, local amenities, and the sparkling shoreline, the cottage is ideally located for four guests to explore a fascinating part of Cornwall. Park in the off-road parking space or in the nearby public car park before making yourself right at home. A sleek, contemporary kitchen is fully equipped for your self-catering stay, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, and coffee machine. After rustling up your best home-cooked meals, serve them in the living/dining room to toast to your retreat and plan your adventures. Relax on the cushioned sofa in front of the TV, or why not take your glass of wine to the front patio? You'll catch the evening sun from the outdoor seating and enjoy a moment's peace before retiring for the night. While the washing machine cleans your sandy towels ready for tomorrow, climb the stairs and freshen up in the walk-in shower before catching your rest under crisp, white sheets; one double bedroom offers an en-suite shower room for extra privacy, while another double is located nearby, both with ample storage and bedside lamps for night-time readers. In Tintagel, a selection of attractions and amenities are just down the road, including King Arthur's Arms Inn for classic pub grub and Vega, a vegan café, as well as convenience stores if you prefer cooking at home. Discover the National Trust's Tintagel Old Post Office, Tintagel Toy Museum, or take a short journey to the coast to unravel local legends; the rugged ruins of Tintagel Castle overlook the cliffs, while Merlin's Cave and King Arthur’s Statue are just further along the coast, a truly magical spot with breath-taking sea views! More stunning vistas await along Glebe Cliff, a great area for birdwatching, but if you're seeking a longer walk, the South West Coast Path runs through Tintagel and leads to nearby villages, sandy coves, and plenty of picnic opportunities. Those seeking a more relaxing holiday have several idyllic beaches within easy reach, such as Bossiney Cove and Trebarwith Strand, in an area renowned for surfing and watersports. Other nearby attractions include St Nectan's Glen, a riverside woodland rich in wildlife, as well as St Nectans Glen Waterfalls, sure to please all guests! Boscastle, Port Isaac and Polzeath are all a short drive away for classic Cornish settings along the coast, as well as Wadebridge for the Camel Trail cycle way, a disused railway track linking Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin. For an unforgettable staycation, book your next holiday in Cornwall at Molehill Cottage.

Tintagel is a popular destination because of the mythical King Arthur's Castle, which dominate the cliffside just beyond the village. The sea, rocky coves, and breath-taking views dominate the surrounding area. Several beaches are easily accessible and surfing is the main draw for water lovers. Tintagel contains a number of bars and eateries, as well as the National Trust's Old Post Office. The SW Coast Path runs through the settlement and winds its way along the cliffs.

All bedding and towels beautifully laundered. Property well equipped. However, i had my elderly mother with me, who is very fit but is 90 and therefore there were certain issues for her and i that were very difficult. On arrival the parking was very difficult as had to park on a small hard standing which edged to the road and had to get inside the double yellow lines. Two other vehicles were there which made it difficult as it was on a slope. It was raining hard, which made the very deep steps into the property very slippery and there was no handrails to assist visitors that are a little unsteady under foot. There was no welcome pack, explaining how to work various items in the property, ie: heating, TV, Cooker etc. no information regarding surrounding area or doctors number, recommended places to visit or to eat etc. The downstairs bedroom, wardrobe was so close up to the bed, you could not get passed without a struggle or bruising your leg. The light in the en-suite was not working and there was no slip mat in the shower base, which was exceptionally slippery when wet, we had to buy one of our own, also no grip rails in either shower. The showers were cold one moment and hot the next! If upstairs were using it, downstairs would have the opposite! The upstairs bedroom, no blinds at the sky lights, plus the dressing table stool needing covering as it was dirty and covered in make up etc. I feel these issues need addressing. The property was warm and cosy when the heating was on. A good location. The key safe operation worked well.

Two bathrooms was a real bonus. We had an issue with one of the bed legs and the owner responded immediately and had someone come out within 15 minutes. Great response. The cottage is in a very convenient location with shops, cafes, restaurants within a 2 minute walk and coastal walks 5 minutes! Thanks for a great holiday.
