The lodge sits at the end of a long private lane. This is concrete until the final stretch which is then made up of stones. The cosy lounge is a place to snuggle and relax, not least during colder days as the wood burner roars. Sliding doors lead into the dining room, a bright and airy space made for family meals. Miles of trails and footpaths can be picked up almost directly from the property, but if you want sand between your toes, Lee Bay, Woolacombe, Saunton, and Croyde (all within 23 miles) each offer a different coastal panorama. Woody Bay (4 miles) is a sight to behold, as are the steam trains at its eponymous heritage railway station (1.5 miles).
