Alternatively make the most of warm weather and fire up the BBQ before dining on the rear terrace and drinking in those views. Spend relaxing evenings curled up with a book in the reading nook on the mezzanine level, stargazing on the terrace, or watching a film in the lounge. Then unwind in the hot tub before getting cosy under the covers in the two comfortable bedrooms. The king-size bedroom has access to the terrace and an en-suite shower room; the second bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed that can be made up as a twin. Take advantage of the numerous walking and cycling trails from the village, or walk sections of the Tarka Trail, a 180-mile, figure-of-eight loop that traverses North Devon. The trail passes through the picturesque village of Instow (10.5 miles) at the confluence of the rivers Taw and Torridge with a gorgeous waterfront and sandy beaches. To ride the waves, head to the surfing favourite of Westwood Ho! (11 miles).
