The exposed beams and brickwork in the cottage paired with pretty coastal touches makes it a calming and relaxing place to come back to after walking around the town. A spacious kitchen diner makes it a pleasure to eat dinner around the table, while the spiral staircase up to the first floor has a quaint low ceiling that leads on to the bathroom so you can enjoy a soothing shower at the end of the day.

Walk just 325 metres along the harbour to the Lundy Booking Office and catch a boat to Lundy Island, where you may spot puffins, seals and maybe even a pod of dolphins. If you prefer to stay on land, pop next door to the aquarium. When it’s time to stop for lunch, you’ll have plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Further afield, Woolacombe (8 miles) boasts a 3-mile stretch of sands, while Combe Martin Dinosaur Park (7 miles) is a hit with kids.
