Spending time outdoors in North Devon is a major pastime for locals and holidaymakers alike but if you don’t fancy venturing out you can enjoy the gorgeous private woodland walk which takes you alongside the riverbank and even make the most of the private beach (at low tide) or simply sit outside with a drink in hand enjoying the view.  Bideford is the second largest town in N Devon with plenty to see and do with a lovely riverfront and port, which was once Britain’s third largest.  Beaches, such as Westward Ho! and Instow are firm favourites locally and are less than 4 miles away and the South West Coastal Path is a must for keen walkers & runners as is the popular Tarka Trail, which stretches for 180 miles and can be accessed via the same side of the river.  It provides the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line by foot or bicycle, allowin. . .
