Property Details
Nestled on the edge of the peaceful picture postcard village of Netherbury, Vine Cottage is a bright and fresh single storey cottage. It has 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4 people, which makes this a perfect location for young families with plenty of space for children to play in the garden. It is also a romantic bolt hole for couples and dog walkers to enjoy all year round. There are endless beautiful walks straight from the property, as well as stunning coastal walks not far away.
Vine Cottage is next to Sawmill Cottage (also a holiday cottage) in the grounds of The Old Sawmills which is a large beautiful detached family house.
Within the grounds there is an all weather hard tennis court which guests are welcome to use.
The village is set in a picturesque valley, surrounded by rolling hills and wrapped around the river Brit. There is a tremendous community spirit in the village with the Village Hall often having activities and events.
There is also an annual Village Gardens Open Event.
A community playing field and playground is nearby, as well as Howards Wood which provides stunning woodland walks for people and their dogs.
The village also has a stunning Church dating back to the 12th century. There is a lovely local pub nearby (10 minute walk), The Hare & Hounds in Waytown which has panoramic views. If you like wine, then just a few minutes drive away is Furleigh Estates Vineyards with its International Award Winning sparkling wines. You're welcome to go for a tour & tastings, so do check out their website for details. Netherbury is also the location for the original River Cottage in the TV series with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, which you will see on one of the many village walks.
Netherbury is situated one mile south of the picturesque market town of Beaminster, with it's independent shops including butchers, bakers, deli, cafe's and restaurants.
Bridport is 5 miles and West Bay (access to the amazing Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site and where Broadchurch the TV series was filmed) just 7 miles away.
The Jurassic Coast is a must-visit for anyone interested in geology, history, photography or for just exploring the stunning coastal scenery along the 95-mile beautiful South West coastal footpath.
You could try some fossil Hunting in Charmouth or Lyme Regis and hopefully be a lucky enough to find your own piece of history.
A fully refundable security deposit may apply to this property to cover potential damages.
