As you build up an appetite, move into the camping kitchen where a gas hob and fridge provide basic amenities, while there is also a barbecue for those sunny afternoons. A sumptuous king-size bed awaits, complemented by two single fold out out beds which can be pulled out for the extra members of the group. Prepare for the day in the adjacent tented shower room. Relish in the good weather with a cold beverage as you sit out on the shared lawn and let the children play. Birch provides a memorable retreat, whatever time of year. The quaint village of Coalway lies in the West Forest of Dean region of Gloucestershire. Coalway is home to a local pub, a Post Office, a shop and a number of businesses. The market town of Coleford is nearby, and offers a greater selection of amenities including many pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as attractions including the GWR Museum. This is also a fantastic base for walkers, with the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean to explore.

The tents are well equipped and the lady who runs it was very friendly and welcoming. Plenty to do for any family that likes the outdoors, the children loved it and didnât want to leave. Such a beautiful area, direct access to the forest for exploring and allowing the children to run and play. Would definitely come again.

There is lots to do in the area for the family as a whole, or you can choose to relax at the site, or put your hiking boots on and go venture the woods which you are surrounded by. The kids enjoyed collecting lots of wood for the outdoor fire during the day and going for walks with torches at night. A very peaceful place and the local shops are just a short car trip up the road if you need anything. If your new to this, please be aware that you will need to purchase lanterns, a hand axe for chopping your own wood, and you will also need to purchase your own special wood to burn your wood fire in your tent to keep it warm when the temparture drops.
