Poplar Cottage is a tastefully-converted, 150-year-old detached barn located on Cottons' Farm in the pretty, unspoiled village of Dumbleton. At the end of a long tree-lined drive and set in glorious countryside with outstanding views towards the Cotswold Hills and Vale of Evesham, this property is a perfect quiet escape for families and friends. The cottage is surrounded by 58 acres of working farmland with ridge and furrows rolling down to the nearby River Isbourne. Guests are welcome to walk in the fields surrounding the farm and many public footpaths run nearby. A short drive away you'll also find the picturesque, chocolate-box village of Broadway, named the 'capital' of the Cotswolds. Step into a beautiful home, well-equipped and furnished to a high standard. You'll find the cottage is full of character with many original features. Relax by the electric fire as you enjoy a movie on the TV or a book from the library. There's a stunning farmhouse-style kitchen for you to cook your meals in and two nicely-presented bedrooms in which to catch your rest. A historic riverside town located on the confluence of the River Severn and Avon, retaining medieval character with an abundance of half timbered Tudor buildings. Tewkesbury is renowned as having one of the best medieval Black and White townscapes in the country, boasting over 350 listed buildings of historic interest set in a conservation area. The town has a stunning 12th century abbey with the highest Norman tower in England, several museums, a Heritage Centre as well as a plethora of individual shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and wine bars. The town plays host to country and farmers' markets, musical events and Vintage and Food Fairs throughout the year. Many lovely walks can be enjoyed from the town with both the Severn Way and Shakespeare's Avon Way running close by. Nearby the regency spa town of Cheltenham, boasts historic Georgian architecture and an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions. Other festivals in this vibrant town cover literature, jazz, science, cricket, food and drink and comedy to name but a few! The racecourse plays host to the annual, world famous Gold Cup races, as well as numerous other horse racing events throughout the year. The historic city of Gloucester offers Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands and a magnificent Norman cathedral, whose cloisters where used as a location in the Harry Potter films, plus a bustling city centre. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, Slimbridge Wetland Centre, the beautiful World Heritage city of Bath, Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and many unspoilt Cotswold towns and villages all make for a great day out.
