For what we paid for it and our expectations based on the promo images we were disappointed. Clearly they were taken some time ago. Sitting Room - leatherette sofas marked and frayed. Rug faded. Windows dirty. Kitchen - sticky work surfaces, had to wash two pans before using, not enough mugs (if you have dishwasher you need more). Downstairs loo and shower room - found used sanitary towel wrapped in toilet paper stuffed in radiator! Smells damp and mouldy. Upstairs bathroom - broken door handle, dirty scaled toilet, mouldy shower door. The brown, seventies looking, bath wall is dated and certainly not conducive to a relaxing bath. Towels - tired. Bedrooms fine. Outside seating area - horrible. The metal chairs and table are all rusted - a challenge to make a small area like this look nice but there had been no effort made. A pot plant or two, tidying around the bins and the down pipes all would have helped. We never used it. The paintwork of the whole cottage needs redoing. The inside of the back door for example looks like it’s just been primed. Brown knot marks everywhere (so did the master bed), floorboard staining again looking tired. Location wise it was great and we certainly enjoyed our time in lovely Southwold but the accommodation was a big let down.

Everything was superficially clean. But the rubbish bin was very mouldy under the bin liner, the washing machine detergent dispensor was covered in black mould. The outside area was thick with bird poo, once cleaned this did not reappear. The toilet door handle was held on with one screw. The frying pan was unusable. And the dishwasher did not work for most of our stay. Parking was not as simple as it sounded in the details.

Furnished well, cosy and feels like home. Well equipped kitchen, and our girls love sitting on the kitchen floor due to the underfloor heating. Nice touch .
