There are many attractions to explore nearby including RAF Cosford, Ironbridge Gorge Museums and Blists Hill Victorian Town. The lavish country house and gardens at Weston Park are worth a visit, along with Wroxeter Roman City and Vineyards, Attingham Park and Acton Scott Historic Working Farm. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a trip up The Wrekin for some wonderful views over the surrounding area. The Shropshire Hills area of outstanding natural beauty is home to the National Trust’s Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd.
Ludlow, as well as being renowned for foodies, has a castle and racecourse plus numerous festivals year round. The medieval town of Shrewsbury is looped by the River Severn where guests can enjoy a boat ride, and the theatre sits proudly on the banks. There is also a selection of activities available nearby including mountain boarding, clay shooting, archery, quad trekking, high ropes and mountain biking. Shropshire is also bordered by Staffordshire, Herefordshire and Mid Wales, and all these areas are ideal for day trips.
