Just off the snug you will find the third and final bedroom, a second twin with Velux windows and plenty of storage. Explore the local village, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at the welcoming Grouse Inn or Turkey Inn with beautiful views and fantastic food, followed by drinks at the Snooty Fox, perfect for those evenings when you don’t fancy cooking! The village also offers a well-stocked convenience store and a fish and chip takeaway for when you would prefer to dine in the comfort of Greenfield Cottage. The keen golfers in your party will delight at the nearby Branshaw Golf Club, where you can test out your swing with a backdrop of terrific views. If you don’t fancy driving, why not hop aboard a vintage steam train at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, where you can venture from Keighley to Oxenhope. The station was also featured in the 1970’s film adaptation of The Railway Children. In Keighley, you can tour the Keighley Bus Museum, visit the esteemed Cliffe Castle, picnic in Haworth Central Park or Oakworth Park or enjoy the fabulous surroundings of the nearby National Trust site of East Riddlesden Hall. Head to Haworth, where literary fans will have found their haven with the Bronte Parsonage Museum, the Bronte Waterfall, the scenic 69km Bronte Way, and the charming Wuthering Heights pub. All this and more awaits with a stay at Greenfield Cottage.

E.E. Nesbitt's renowned 1970 film adaptation of his novel, The Railway Children, was filmed in Oakworth, a little Pennine village just two miles from Haworth and overlooking the Worth Valley. In addition to being close to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth also features a lovely ornamental park and is conveniently located near Keighley, the county town. The Bronte sisters, who lived nearby in Haworth, were greatly influenced by the surrounding moorland. All of this is set against the beautiful countryside depicted in the novel Wuthering Heights in Haworth, which boasts an abundance of curious and antique shops, narrow passageways, and cobblestone streets.

Although the weather was cold for this time year but I do feel there should have been enough wood for the weekend. We have never had that problem with a sykes cottage before we even had to buy toilet roll which we have never had to do in a cottage before. The cottage is in a lovely position and it was a very comfortable cottage just a few things that disappointed us but overall we had a nice chilled weekend.

With great features. Alison made us feel so welcome, with the welcome pack which had home made delicious scones, butter & Jam. Tea, coffee etc and a bottle of Prosecco. We loved every minute of our stay at Greenfield cottage and would definitely return. Weather wasn’t the best whilst we were there, to get out doing all the lovely walks located near by. (We did a few). But was happy to relax in the cozy cottage playing boards games in front of the log burner.
