Nestled in the rural village of Leven, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is this contemporary, detached home, Well Cottage. Set over the ground-floor, Well Cottage is an excellent base for two couples and families seeking a quiet country retreat. The contemporary kitchen/diner is well-appointed for home-cooking; make use of the oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, while the dishwasher will sort the washing up! Beyond the sliding doors rests the sitting room, appointed with a woodburning stove that is sure to come in handy during those colder months! Make your way to the bedrooms, with the master housing a super-king-size with freestanding bath and separate en-suite shower room, boasting superb attention to detail.
The second bedroom includes a king-size zip/link bed, which can be arranged as a twin, serviced by an en-suite shower room. To the outside of Well Cottage is an immaculate garden, housing a hot tub in the gazebo with a furniture space and barbecue, perfect for entertaining in the summer. The scenic splendour of East Yorkshire is on your doorstep; take time to explore the rolling fields, cycle trails or amble along the Leven Canal to the local fishing ponds. Venture to the coastal town of Hornsea, providing a great range of attractions including the Victorian façade as well as Hornsea mere where boats can be hired.
Alternatively, head off to Beverley and indulge in the rich history of the market town, boxing off Beverley Minster and Treasure House Gallery as well as a multiplex cinema, theatre, and leisure centre. There’s plenty to enjoy with holiday at Well Cottage.
Leven, a small rural community in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is around seven miles from Hornsea and eight miles from Beverley. A cricket and football bowling amateur team, as well as two bars, are located nearby. A short drive will bring you to the mediaeval market town of Beverley, which features a Gothic Minster and a bustling twice-weekly market. Beverley has a long history and has a huge selection of eateries and shops. Spend the day at the Beverley Races, don't forget! The East Coast seaside towns of Hornsea, Bridlington, and Scarborough, the Deep Submarinium in Hull (the 2017 City of Culture), York, the North York Moors, and more can all be reached in less than an hour by driving. Leven makes a good home base for exploring the area while on vacation.

The property itself is really beautifully presented, well equipped and close to many convenient local amenities. There was a really generous welcome pack, and the owner was helpful and friendly, whilst also ensuring you have privacy and space. We brought bikes and there were lots of enjoyable rides locally; there are also lots of places to visit a manageable drive away. Weâd happily recommend a stay in Well Cottage and would book it again if we return to the region.

It was spacious and spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly want. The location was also very good with several towns and villages within easy driving distance, Helen, our host, was lovely, professional and friendly throughout our stay. I strongly recommend Well Cottage.
