You have a selection of beaches for fun-filled outtings with the kids as well as the beautiful city of York, Scarborough and not to be missed is a ride on the North York Moors Steam Railway. Skipsea is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, yet within one mile of the beach and close to the cliffs of the North Sea. The village has its own Post Office, general store and tea room, a hairdresser’s and a pub. Just outside the village are the remains of Skipsea Castle and the surrounding countryside enjoys walking and cycling. The Deep Submarium at Hull, Sledmere House and Burton Constable Hall are within 20 miles, whilst the shops, cathedral and museum of York are within easy reach.
