King's Cottage in Bedale is highly praised for its beautiful decor, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoy the private hot tub and appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs. While some minor maintenance issues and parking challenges are noted, the overall experience is one of a cosy, clean, and delightful stay in a lovely village, with many looking forward to returning.
The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests describing it as spotless and well-maintained. A few mentions of cobwebs and a blocked bath drain suggest room for improvement, but these are seen as minor issues.
The location is appreciated for its beauty and proximity to local attractions. However, some guests mention traffic noise and difficulties with parking, which slightly detracts from the overall positive feedback on the cottage's setting.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a warm atmosphere. The presence of a log burner and the provision of space for baby essentials are noted as particularly comfortable aspects.
The facilities, including a modern kitchen and hot tub, are well-received. Some guests suggest improvements for privacy around the hot tub and provide feedback on minor maintenance issues. The lack of a washing machine is noted by a guest, but overall, the facilities meet guests' needs.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is frequently mentioned, with guests delighted by welcome packs containing essentials like bread and bacon. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such offerings are subject to change and not guaranteed.

Situated in the lower Yorkshire Dales, Crakehall is a sleepy little village that consists of two parts - Little Crakehall and Great Crakehall. The settlement lies around a large village green and offers a popular village pub serving delicious fare. Not far from Crakehall is the market town of Bedale, a traditional centre which has its own museum, weekly market and interesting churches, as well as a number of craft and antique shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, which provide local beers and home cooked food. Also within driving distance are plenty other attractions, including the Constable Burton Hall Gardens with extensive parkland and woodland walks, the Forbidden Corner with its underground passages to explore, the lovely Georgian town of Richmond with its fine castle ruins and the Wensleydale railway line, an authentic heritage railway.
