Dating back to the 18th century, this enchanting barn conversion, adjacent to the owners’ home, stands at the edge of the Georgian town of Richmond, enjoying magnificent views towards Richmond Castle. There are good riverside and woodland walks from the door, including Wainwright’s famous ‘Coast to Coast’ walk. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is nearby. Within easy reach are many historic houses to visit, or you could always have a day at the races at either Catterick, Ripon or Thirsk. The coast is also within easy reach for a day out (approximately 1 hour’s drive). An ideal holiday base. Shops ½ mile, inn serving real ale within 200 yards.

The Cottage was highly equipped and very clean, bathroom was beautifully decorated. For location one of my top of many a travel. Would definitely book again.

Holly Cottage is superbly located about a quarter of a mile from Richmond market place. We were met by Jackie on arrival and shown around the accommodation which has amazing views of Richmond castle from the living room window. Everything was exceptionally clean and tidy and there were plenty of local information available in the living room which had a TV with freeview and a DAB radio. It must be mentioned that despite its proximity to Richmond the cottage is across the river on the opposite bank and there is a steepish hill down to the river and a very steep walk up to the town which would be a challenge for anyone walking with mobility problems.
