The holiday property is beautifully presented with a high specification kitchen and a bathroom complete with double bath and state-of-the-art shower. The lounge is flooded with natural light, ideal for reading and relaxing. The snug is cosy with its wood burner and the separate dining room is perfect for enjoying leisurely meals together. Helmsley has five acres of walled gardens set beside the backdrop of the castle ruins, an art centre with live event and film programmes, and the country estate of Duncombe Park, home of the International Centre of Birds of Prey. Visitors can enjoy the proximity of renowned restaurants, delicatessens and traditional teashops. There are top quality and quirky shops and galleries to browse through and an open air swimming pool (summer months only). The area is popular for walking and cycling with family fun at Flamingo Land and Go Ape in Dalby Forest. Enjoy the stunning scenery of the North York Moors from the famous steam train which departs from Pickering (13 miles). Visit abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland, and stately homes at Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard. Miles of sandy beaches can be found at the traditional coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey, and the historic city of York (24 miles) appeals to all ages with its iconic minster, world renowned museums, theatres, superb shopping and river boat trips.
