Montrose Basin is a renowned nature reserve and wildlife centre and in the winter, thousands of pink-footed geese make a spectacular sight taking off in the early morning to feed in the surrounding countryside.  Away from the coast are the Angus Glens which form the foothills of the Grampian Mountains, with myriad walks and trails to be discovered.  Golf, tennis and a leisure pool are in the town itself, or further afield the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen are almost equi-distant and have plenty of shops, eateries and theatres for an alternat. . .
