For guests who enjoy exploring the local area on foot or by bike, there are numerous established footpaths and cycle paths that lead directly from Ochil View. These paths go through some of the most scenic countryside and if you are feeling energetic, Myreton Hill and Dumyat have great views over the surrounding countryside, while Menstrie Glen follows the burn up the hillside between the hills. For days out, the historic city of Stirling with its magnificent castle and monuments is well worth visiting and boasts history and tradition, as well as thriving shops, bars and restaurants. If you wish to leave the car behind there is a regular bus service from the village.

Stirling University campus is only 3 miles away, and for guests wanting to visit friends or family studying there or attending a graduation ceremony, you are ideally located. Travel to all areas is easily accessible either by car or train, with Stirling railway station only 7 miles away. There are regular services to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow taking you to the centre of these vibrant cities in less than an hour. A little further afield but within easy driving distance is Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, well known for its spectacular scenery and lochs. There is also the opportunity to visit Blair Drummond Safari Park just 20 minutes’ drive; Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies both 30 minutes away. For fans of the epic international TV series ’Outlander’ you are ideally located to visit many of the locations used in the filming of the series including Doune Castle, Culross and Hopetoun House.
