Dalbeattie Forest, one of the stages of the 7Stanes mountain biking network is within 10 minute drive of the cottage. There is unspoilt countryside ranging from moors to hills, castles to explore and several interesting towns including Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright all within easy reach.
