The country town of Dalbeattie is in the southwest of Scotland. It sits within a wooded valley and boasts a range of amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Nearby are Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright and Dumfries, all are within 15 miles and are wonderful spots for a day trip. The stunning Galloway Forest Park is close by and is wonderful for outdoor lovers.

The weather was cold but didn't stop us having our drinks outside. It was nice to get back into the warmth after. The only negative was the lounge furniture, its different from the website and is not suitable for four people. On the plus side, the bedrooms are large and have good storage. The bathrooms are great with plenty of lovely soft towels. Overall we had a very relaxing holiday.

The owners have thought of all holidaymakers need and provided everything. Ideal centre for lovely walks at Kippford Rockcliffe and nearby Sandyhills beach. Very quiet and peaceful and very helpful owners. We had a lovely holiday in beautiful countryside. Thank you so much

Quiet (which is what we wanted) and peaceful. Well equipped cottage so needed nothing.
