A charming traditional two storey cottage hidden away in quaint narrow back street in the popular town of New Galloway.   The town has a vibrant arts and music culture based on the Catstrand Centre which is only fifty metres or so from the cottage.   New Galloway is well served with pubs and hotels together with a local shop.

New Galloway sits in the Ken Valley and has wonderful outlooks to the surrounding hills and Forestry Commission Woodlands.   The area makes a superb base for holidays whether it be for exploring the woodlands to see wonderful wildlife or enjoying quiet peaceful walks or cycling.  

Golfers are spoilt for choice with the New Galloway golf course only 200m or so from the house and numerous other courses within easy reach, for more of a test or challenge the championship courses at Ayr and Southerness are within easy driving distance. Water sports are also well catered for at Loch Ken which is within easy reach either for angling or sailing with the Galloway Activity Centre providing tuition and hire craft for all to enjoy at all levels of capability.   The area is adjacent to the first Dark Skies Park which due to the lack of light pollution enables the Milky Way and other constellations to be easily seen.

The local area includes many sites worth exploring to discover Scotland's history and these include Threave Castle, near Castle Douglas, which has the added attraction of having to call for a boat to cross the moat or Threave Gardens managed by the National Trust for Scotland together with other sites such as Drumlanrig Castle at Thornhill where the grounds are opened to the public.   Slightly further afield but still within easy reach is the Ayrshire Coast with Culzean Castle or if you wish trips to Glasgow and Edinburgh are also easily undertaken with both cities being not much more than a 11/2 hour drive away.
