This is a perfect retreat for celebrations or getaways for your whole family or with friends. The main lounge and adjoining sun lounge are the main focal point of the cottage and offer amazing views of the River Tay and the surrounding countryside.
To the rear of the property there is ample space for everyone to enjoy, with a good, well maintained garden and patio, garden furniture offering great al fresco dining with views to open farmland. Stroll along the hallway and enter the sitting room, a glorious space filled with lemon yellow colourways and a collection of contemporary seating positioned around an idyllic woodburning stove. This room forms an open-plan layout with the conservatory, showcasing fabulous views out across the verdant fields stretching beyond the horizon. Just off from the lounge takes you through to the kitchen, where you’ll find your welcome pack picnic basket with local produce to get your holiday off to the ideal start. Perfectly lined around the dining table are a set of integrated fixtures, enhanced by a quirky wallpaper design and a modern finish. Next you will find the bedrooms; a king-size which can be made into two single beds with the zip/link function, and a set of twins ready made up. Both are stylishly done with thoughtful, personal touches and fresh colour schemes; the family bathroom serves the two, completing this cottage with exceptional presentation. The region offers much to see and do and the cottage offers the ideal base to explore the surrounding area. Within a 1 hour drive you will find Lindores Abbey Distillery (5 miles), St Andrews golf courses (14 miles), Falkland Palace and Gardens (13 miles), Scone Palace (19 miles), Perth Racecourse (20 miles) and also the bustling city of Dundee only 12 miles away offering; the new V&A Museum opening 15th September, The RSS Discovery (Captain Scott of the Antarctica exploration ship), Verdant Works, Dundee Science Centre, a cinema, shops, bars and restaurants. Further afield, Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital and main gateway with its airport is located only 48 miles a little over 1 hour drive from the cottage. If you wish to venture into the Highlands of Scotland from Balhelvie Cottage you can be at Queens View North of Pitlochry in an hour, 50 miles, offering some of the best hillwalking in the Southern Highlands with The Schiehallion, Ben-Vrackie, Ben-Vorlich all Munros within easy access of the cottage. A retreat not to be missed.
The royal burgh and parish of Fife is an agricultural community positioned alongside the salmon fishing waters of the River Tay, overlooking Mugdrum Island. To the east lies Lindores Abbey and there are plenty of other attractions nearby such as, the Lindores Abbey Distillery for whisky lovers, the National Trust's Balmerino Abbey and the Backhouse Rossie Estate, an RHS Partner Garden. The Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve at Morton Lochs offers something for everyone; seals hauling themselves out of the water, hungry birds looking for food and a rich variety of nature's wonders. Though the village of Newburgh may be small, there are many treasures drawing in visitors; the remains of Macduff's Cross, Newburgh Sailing Club and Laing Museum, are all but a few.
