The Hollies is a brilliant holiday home for the entire family to enjoy, including two well-behaved dogs. Situated on the outskirts of Alness and in the vicinity of historic Dalmore House, The Hollies has a a large, mature plot enjoying views out across fields towards the Cromarty Firth. Right from the doorstep you can join a popular local walking route, The Dalmore Circular, which is perfect for dogs as well as children because it passes a brilliant, large play area. You can also walk down the river path to the Cromarty Firth coastline and visit the Yankee Pier, a monument from WW1. The historic Dalmore Distillery is still in operation and only a short walk away, so a visit should be planned for your stay at The Hollies.

The house itself is tucked away down a lovely, quiet track. The large enclosed garden wraps around the entire property making it perfect for dogs and children to play away the holiday. Entering the property at the side door you have a downstairs cloakroom on the left and a utility room on the right. Straight ahead the large, fantastic kitchen welcomes you properly into the house. There’s a small table for breakfast in the kitchen, but through to the living room is where you will find the dining space. From the living room, complete with woodburner, there are great views out onto fields and there’s a door out to the garden. There are three spacious bedrooms, a master bedroom with en suite shower room and walk-in wardrobe, along with two twin rooms. There is a large family bathroom with shower and bath. It’s a brilliant house that families have been known to spend the whole week in because of the space and things to do right on the doorstep.

However, because of the great base that Alness is we urge you to hop in the car and go and explore this part of the Highlands. The Black Isle is across the Cromarty Firth back towards Inverness and is a brilliant area with lots of places to visit. Tain, Dornoch and the NC500 touring road leading to John O’Groats are also must-sees! The Hollies is an excellent choice for a Highland holiday that you’re likely to want to return to again and again.
