A very special property tucked away in Caledonian Forest on the edge of the popular Cairngorms National Park village of Carrbridge.. Baddengorm Lodge is a spectacular house within the ancient woodland that stands pride of place in its own clearing beside a lochan. Following the track up into the woodland and all the way to the house is a special experience. You can’t believe your luck when you arrive at Baddenform Lodge. First impressions are incredible and the house just keeps delivering the more you get to know it. The garden is huge and fully enclosed. There’s a burn that runs through the property and pools in a fantastic wee lochan in front of the house. The owners have done an amazing job with the outside space. There’s a brilliant wrap around decking with garden furniture as well as a firepit deck out towards the woods. Also in the garden is an amazing games room outbuilding which hosts a snooker table, table tennis table and table football, as well as a very characterful wood burner and importantly a small bar.
Inside Baddengorm Lodge the large living room is separated by a free-standing circular wood burner. It’s such a great space to chill out and play games, and simply look out into the surrounding forest where you’ll see wildlife throughout your stay. The entire open-plan living/kitchen/dining space is flooded with natural light as there are windows everywhere. The corner sofa area of the living area also benefits from a vaulted ceiling to the first floor landing, like a mezzanine feature but more grand with a lot glass. The utility room off from the kitchen is useful and there’s appliances as well as a toilet. The rest of the ground floor is very spacious. The master bedroom is large and has a fabulous en-suite bathroom with shower and free-standing bath. Up to the first floor are more bedrooms all with incredible woodland views. Baddengorm Lodge is honestly a truly unique property and although there is two steps to the entrance at the front of the property, there is a wheelchair friendly side door with ramp. Carrbridge is only a couple of miles down the road where you’ll find a couple of cafés, a bar and restaurant, a great golf course and a forest adventure park. Aviemore is only a few miles further away with mre places to eat and drink, as well as winter sports galore. Other neighbouring villages that follow the meandering River Spey and that are well worth visiting are Boat of Garten, Nethy Bridge and Grantown-on-Spey, the gateway to the distilleries. The Cairngorms National Park is growing in popularity, and for good reason. It’s a rare wilderness in the UK and one of the best places for a holiday in the British Isles. Beach 28 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.. 2 steps to entrance.
