Around and About

The town of Kingussie is situated in the stunning Cairngorm National Park and attracts visitors all year round. The town has a fine variety of hotels and restaurants, and is home to a very fine folk museum, with buildings and artefacts all of which combine to give an insight into Highland life. During the summer months, traditional crafts are demonstrated in the 'village' streets. For the nature lovers there is the Highland Wildlife Park and its wolf territory along with the habitat walks and other Highland wildlife. There are whisky distilleries to visit, one of them, Dalwhinnie, is the highest distillery in Scotland. Aveimore is just 15 miles away and a popular winter destination, but it does have more to offer all year round and is worth a visit at any time of year.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
