This is an area with lots of character, with hills that beckon the walker.  For cyclists, the Afan Argoed Forestry Park, rated in the top ten in the world for mountain bike rides, is within easy reach.  Spectacular drives over the inter-valley roads give amazing views, while the rich, rolling land of the Vale of Glamorgan offers many castles, interesting churches and manor houses to explore.  The nearest sandy beaches are 12 miles,. . .
