Station View, an end terrace house just down the road from the pretty village of Carrog, is a great base for exploring North East Wales.
Station View is a terraced house near to the town of Corwen, North Wales, where care and attention has been taken to create very comfortable holiday accommodation. This is a great area for history and nature lovers alike. Carrog Station, on the Llangollen Steam Heritage Railway is just 0.3 miles away, and the trains pass within view behind the cottage, and a visit to Llangollen and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a World Heritage site, is an interesting day out. The Vale of Llangollen offers plenty of opportunity for walking, outdoor activities and wildlife spotting.
Three steps lead up from the pavement to the porch of the house and then through the front door into the sitting room with a large corner sofa, woodburner in the large brick lined feature fireplace and the flat screen TV with basic Sky, DVD player and WiFi. Downstairs has an open plan feel with an archway leading through to the dining room and then onto the kitchen, with electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, slim dishwasher and washing machine, and the ground floor shower room with WC. The dining room has an additional sofa which can be made up as a sofabed to provide flexibility in sleeping arrangements and from here the stairs lead up to the first floor. Upstairs are the double bedroom, at the rear with lovely views over the fields to Carrog Station, the village and surrounding hills, and the second bedroom with a single bunk over a double bed.
The rear garden, accessed from the large rear porch off the kitchen, has a lawned area and an impressive brick built barbecue at the end of the garden with a patio area, table and bench to make the most of the views. Fully enclosed but with quite a low wall at the bottom of the garden and the adjacent field is often home to a flock of sheep. There is no designated parking but there should be no problem to stop roadside to unload and then park just off the main road or on side roads nearby.
The pretty village of Carrog with the friendly Grouse Inn is less than half a mile away down a country lane. The nearest shops and leisure facilities will be in Corwen about 2.5 miles away and larger town facilities and supermarkets are available in Llangollen, only a 12 minute drive along the A5 road. Wrexham and the city of Chester are also within easy driving distance.
