A three-bedroomed house on a private cul-de-sac in the village of Abercraf on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

S11352 is a three-bedroomed house on a private cul-de-sac in the village of Abercraf on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is between Dan-yr-Ogof Caves and Ystradgynlais (2 miles), close to Craig-y-Nos Country Park and Henrhyd Waterfalls.

 

The semi-detached house has a double bedroom + en suite shower room, another double (with one side of the bed against the wall) and a single room, bathroom and a further WC downstairs. Fitted kitchen, utility with washing machine and tumble dryer, living room with TV, DVD and patio door to garden. Oil-fired underfloor central heating and WiFi. To the rear is a small enclosed garden with patio and lawn and views of the surrounding countryside. Bikes can be secured to fixed padlock in the garden and there's an outside tap and hosepipe for bike washing; a padlock is also available for the garden gate.

It is just a 5 minute walk to the local pub in Abercraf and direct access to the mountains of the national park, an excellent location for walking and mountain biking and on the Builth Wells to Swansea cycle path. Other nearby areas popular for biking include Afan Argoed and the Brechfa Forest. The town of Pontardawe with supermarkets, leisure centre and arts centre with cinema is 8 miles and the vibrant city of Swansea is 15 miles away with a lovely long sandy beach and easy access then on to the fabulous beaches of Gower and the South Wales coast.

"A great base for exploring the area, very clean! We managed to have some wonderful walks in the Brecon Beacons seeing waterfalls, show caves & lakes. Penbury Sands was an hour away which is a fabulous day out & our dog loved the endless sandy beach. "

"Had both washing machine and tumble dryer but sadly no dishwasher. These are becoming more common in some quite modest properties we have rented. Otherwise it was a nice modern property which suited us well, particularly as it was such short notice."

"Very clean and well equipped property. Dog proof garden much appreciated and direct access from a few yards down the road onto the Beacon. Also useful utility / boot room. The Ancient Briton pub is excellent for both food, service and will accept children (and dogs if you book ahead). The Pentre Stables had excellent hacking straight onto the Brecon Beacons on sensible horses / ponies for all standards (www.pentrestables.co.uk). Henrhyd Falls well worth the visit and climb, and Brecon Market is a little tired but a good excuse to visit the town and there are canal boats to hire and good places to eat. The drive is a lovely sight see in itself from the house to Brecon. "

Me, my wife and 7 year old daughter had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable house, the lady who let us in was very nice and helpful and the house was well kept and clean. The two rear bedrooms single and double looked out directly onto the hills with fields full of animals and woods. There were 3 local pubs and a small post office within walking distance. There is a lovely river walk and children's playground just at the bottom of the road and plenty to do and see in the local area, fantastic walks and places to explore nearby. Would love to visit again."
