It offers a very cosy sitting room, with two comfy sofas, luxurious thick curtains and a stone fireplace housing a woodburner, perfect for relaxing in front of after a day of exploration. When its time for bed, there is a lovely king-size bed to snuggle into. There is a well-equipped kitchen with everything that you need to prepare yourself a lovely meal to enjoy in the dining area. The kitchen leads to a shared path which runs behind the terrace and a small sitting area with a seat where you can enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine whilst listening to the nearby stream and admiring the views that stretch across neighbouring village gardens to the Derbyshire hills. The cottage is situated in the centre of Cromford with shops and pubs just a few minutes walk away. The more adventurous can be walking, cycling or even rock climbing in the picturesque Derbyshire countryside within minutes of leaving the cottage and the High Peak Trail is just a short walk away. Set in the World Heritage Derwent Valley, this popular, historic village has a fine selection of shops, pubs and cafes. Walk a couple of minutes further and you will be at the Arkwright Mills Yard which has been rejuvenated to include a Visitor Centre with interactive exhibits, cafes and shops. Here you will also find the canal which is delightful to stroll beside. It will be hard to tear yourself away from this charming village when you decide to venture further into the Peaks. Just a few miles away you can take a ride on a vintage tram at Crich Tramway Village, or head into Matlock Bath, with its selection of shops, pubs, cafes and ice-cream parlours, and for those who are looking for a thrilling day out to remember, a trip on the Heights of Abraham cable car is a fantastic way to experience the Peak’s treetop views. The old mill town of Matlock also has a superb range of antique shops, restaurants and bars. Travel a little further and you can visit Bakewell, Ashbourne or the magnificent Chatsworth Estate. With a bus stop to a number of peak towns and villages just outside the door and a train station less than a mile away, you could even leave your car behind. A wonderful little cottage for a romantic break.

The charming Peak village of Cromford is set in a wooded gorge by the River Derwent and is surrounded by tree-covered hills and cliffs. Cromford is known as the 'cradle of the Industrial Revolution' and attractions in and around the village reflect this. One of these is Cromford Mill, which has been fully restored and is now designated as a World Heritage Site. The village has three public houses and a variety of shops, however for more amenities the towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath are close by. Other attractions in the area include Gulliver's Kingdom family theme park, Chatsworth House and many more. This area has much to offer and makes a great base for a holiday.

Extremely low doors that were not mentioned. Bumped heads many times and ended up wearing bobble hat indoors. Not very dog friendly. No garden or green space of any kind to let your dog out in. It meant walking out at 5:30am for a dog walk and late on in the evening. The dog was never able to be off the lead. If your dog gets out of the front door it’s chances are not good. Cromford itself is amazing and would go back at the drop of a hat but sadly not in Bobbin cottage.

Lots of great walks literally on your doorstep and with pubs and places to eat nearby - it was the perfect location for a weekend break. It was clean, well maintained and had everything you could need for your time away. Would definitely book again.
