"All that you need for you and your dogs the owner provides an excellent “ home from home “ and well deserves her award. From the excellent welcome pack for both us and our dogs to the fresh flowers and the home made cake , she gives of herself."

"We had a lovely relaxing week in S60208, Ruckhall. A very pleasant welcome from the hosts and a very generous welcome basket. The accommodation is very suited to having dogs, the local walks are adventurous and the garden is stunning. We would definitely visit again."

"The house was really nicely furnished. Lots of nice touches. However, we got the time of check out wrong, as this was not in the information pack. The owners turned up just 10 minutes after check out time and were really rude, with the gentleman standing opposite the house glaring at us whilst we packed the car. The owners then phoned us to complain that we had forgot to put the bin out! The house is quite isolated, but it was a nice break until check out."

"Amazing gardens & tranquil location"
Gill – 4 Aug 2018
"We had the most wonderful week staying at S60208. We were greeted with a basket of local produce and the most delicious homemade Victoria sandwich. We felt immediately at home and my granddaughter enjoyed the spacious garden. We extended our stay by an extra night and would dearly love to go back for another holiday. We have rented many cottages over the years and this is by far the best anyone could ever wish for."
Veronica – 16 Jun 2018
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, there were just two of us plus a whippet. The cottage was well equipped and lots of extras provided including a welcome hamper, treats for Louis plus dog towels. Nice large garden and patio. The fenced in portion gave Louis lots of space to run around. Bit noisy in the afternoons with neighbours strimming and hedge cutting but we did have glorious weather. Sat out every evening to have dinner. Lovely and peaceful in the evenings and at night.Easy drive into Hereford for shopping and visiting. Two National trust properties relatively close by and dog friendly to visit. Also visited Hay on Wye.We would definitely stay here again."

"Absolutely wonderful cottage, garden, welcome pack and location for a truly get away from it holiday. So obviously cared about making your stay the best it could be. Only negative we can find is we should have booked two weeks instead of one.Wouldn't hesitate in recommending."

Helen – 7 Apr 2018
"We loved this cottage. It was just the right place for us to recharge our batteries. Very comfy and cosy cottage, as others have said it was well equipped and we had the best welcome pack I have ever experienced. It was perfect for our 2 dogs, they loved the garden and sitting in the kitchen by the rayburn. Lovely walks on the doorstep along the river Wye. I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone who is looking for a little oasis to get away from it all."

"This was our 2nd visit to S60208 and wont be our last. Becky & Charles, the owners, gave us a fantastic welcome and the welcome pack kept us going all week! Becky's cakes are delicious. The bungalow is very warm, heated by a rayburn which I learned to cook a couple of meals on with excellent results, there is a lovely feel to the place, home from home and the garden is perfect for our dog. We enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife, the location is great for us, you're in the countryside but only a short drive from Hereford with every amenity you could want.We can't wait to return. Zoe Martin & Otto"
David – 17 Mar 2018
"Was a lovely bungalow to stay in really homely a warm. The welcome pack was the best we have ever had. The cake was beautiful thank you Becky for everything. Watching the birds in the garden was lovely even saw I think a peregrine falcon, the pheasants strutting around aswell. Peaceful and quiet just what we needed. Charles was very helpful when we needed a little help. The garden was very dog friendly"
Martin – 7 Mar 2018
"Very clean and tidy cottage, with lovely helpful owners. Perfect village location, ideal for relaxing. Welcome hamper really quite exceptional, and very generous, as was the well stocked fridge. Despite the snow, we managed to get out and about, and it actually added to the feeling of peacefulness. A few possible suggestions for improvements: a couple more central heating radiators, and maybe some more rugs on the floors, but overall really positive and we will definitely return."

"We wanted an early Spring break and chose S60208 mainly for its location in an area we like very much for its beautiful countryside and proximity to lovely Hereford. We arrived just after dark in late February and quickly settled in. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The owner had left a welcome hamper including lovely bacon, sausages and eggs and a gorgeous home made Herefordshire apple cake, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of touches including treats and towels etc for our dogs and local OS maps were appreciated. Our bed was extremely comfortable. Other positives we quickly discovered are the beautiful large and well-kept gardens, proximity to lots of country walks including by the river Wye, and very friendly and helpful residents of the hamlet - never intrusive but welcoming when met. The cottage has two toilets and a wet room. Being a bungalow, together with easy access from the road and parking area, makes it easier for those with mobility problems. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in an outhouse. The kitchen is quite roomy with an oil- fired Rayburn and compact dishwasher. There are no shops in the hamlet but there is plenty of helpful information in the welcome pack on local eateries and a large supermarket is less than three miles away. The friendly and helpful owners live a short distance away and called to check we were ok and did everything they could have to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Several things have to be borne in mind when considering this property. It has been updated but still has single glazed metal windows, an open fire in the lounge and limited central heating. Electric convection heaters are provided for the bedrooms. We found that all of these were needed and only just kept us warm enough in the cold weather. The cottage sleeps six but the lounge has comfortable seating for four. Furniture is adequate and although a bit dated, is in keeping with the age of the cottage. We cut our stay short by a few days due to imminent severe weather which was likely to cut off the hamlet. We also felt we would get uncomfortably cold. In warmer weather this would not be an issue. In summary, the cottage is in lovely setting, relatively private with large beautiful gardens, dog-friendly and well equipped. Some rooms are compact but adequate. Our experience of the property was adversely affected by the cold weather."
Craig – 12 Feb 2018
"Great rustic farm cottage. Great garden for the dogs. We were there in February when it was very cold. The Rayburn kept the place very warm. Lovely walks. Supermarket a 5 minute drive away. Lovely host and we really appreciated the welcome pack which did us for breakfast for 2 days. We would definitely live to come back when the weather is warmer. Craig Lisa Milo and Max. Feb 2018"

"We had a lovely week at S60208 Becky was so welcoming and the welcome pack was not only appreciated but very generous. The beautiful home made Hereford apple cake was delicious! The property was so comfortable and homely, the garden amazing and the location perfect. We were loathe to leave and would most definitely love to return."
Mrs Wills – 9 Sep 2017
"Loved it. Great cottage, had everything we needed and more. Garden is amazing, my dog especially loved it. Very peaceful location that was fine for us but may be a little 'out in the sticks' for some. Welcome Hampers were fantastic for people and your dog! Hereford and surrounding areas are great to visit. Great scenery and great food. We will be booking again for next year I'm sure."
jean – 2 Sep 2017

"We received a very warm welcome from Charles and Becky. There was a lovely welcome hamper. The garden was lovely and was dog friendly. It was great to watch the birds come and go. The cottage was in good order with reliable wifi. Definitely a property worth returning to if we were in the area. Plenty to do in this area. We had a great stay."
Ruth – 10 Jun 2017
"Everything was just right about this cottage from the moment we arrived; it's situation and everything it offered. Becky and Charles were there to meet us, and a friendlier pair of hosts I have yet to find. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable holiday, and the welcome hamper is a sight to behold! This will definitely be on our list for another visit."
Brenda – 20 May 2017

"Had a lovely time we wished it was longer than a weekend. Owners made us feel very welcome. It was very quiet and peaceful. Lovely countryside.Mrs Scoates"
Robyn
"We have stayed at lots of cottages and this was by far the best. There was a huge welcome hamper for us and our dog, a freshly homemade apple cake that was still warm, plus 3 large bunches of fresh flowers throughout the place. The enclosed garden was perfect for us and our dog loved sitting looking out the French doors in the lounge and could come and go without our concern. There was a varied bird life which we could view from the kitchen and lounge. There was also a different coloured brick at the front of the cottage that showed where the post office window was and the owners told us of the history there. We walked our dogs legs off at the various country parks, one just over the main road and the trails around Hereford. We had a great time and will certainly go again."
Barbara
"A very nice, dog friendly bungalow in a wonderfully peaceful location. The garden is fantastic. Charles and Becky were very welcoming hosts and we really appreciated the home made cake and other goodies when we arrived."
