Keswick, as the North Lake District's tourist hub, is a great place to visit any time of year. Miniature golf, fantastic parks, a lovely cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and great mountain bike options can all be found in the town, and the picturesque Derwentwater, at the top of the gorgeous Borrowdale Valley, is only a few minutes' walk away. The stunning Newlands Valley can be found not far from Braithwaite and Buttermere, and Bassenthwaite Lake is also a must-see. Everything from easy strolls across the countryside to strenuous climbs of Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells is available. Take a fantastic boat ride around Derwentwater and visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, Jennings Brewery, and Mirehouse, a large house and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. It is so central to the high street whilst being super quiet! The communication with the owners re: parking was great and was superb to not have to worry about parking. I canât recommend enough!!

It is a lovely old cottage which has a really cozy feel to it. Heating and hot water system work great. Itâs very well equipped and very clean. The open plan layout works really well. Upstairs the beds are comfy and the showers is decent. The cottage is tucked down a really quiet side street very close to the Main Street in Keswick so itâs very convenient for all the amenities in town yet tucked away nicely. Car parking in the main Keswick car park is conveniently close. Owners of the property are very helpful and efficient. Highly recommended!

The clothes hooks, boot racks and radiators near the door are ideal for walkers. The only downside is the distance to the car, which we hadn't quite realised from the cottage details - we'd assumed that we could walk directly to and from the car park, rather than round past the 'Dog and Gun'. No fun packing the car in the rain!
