Or why not try your hand at paddleboarding on Wastwater or kayaking down the River Esk, all within 8 miles? History lovers will find so much on offer in the local area, from the Viking cross in Gosforth's churchyard to Muncaster Castle, which is 6 miles away, and there s a wealth of Roman heritage in the area.
