About this property

A lovely Skinningrove cottage offering ground floor accommodation, in a courtyard position just a few minutes' walk from the centre of the village. Tastefully furnished, and equipped and decorated to a very high standard, this Skinningrove cottage makes a superb holiday base. Note: This property is next to Ref. 2834 and Ref. 2835, and together they can accommodate 11.

The quiet former fishing village of Skinningrove is situated on the Cleveland Way and is a collection of delightful cottages by a sandy beach. The village is home to a store and a public house. Skinningrove has a history of Ironstone mining and there is a museum in the area that tells the story of this industry and its influence on the village. The town of Saltburn is only six miles away and has kept much of its Victorian charm and character, including its pier, the colourful Italian Gardens and the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain. Skinningrove is well placed to visit the many attractions in this region including the Abbey and harbour at Whitby and the dramatic North York Moors National Park, making it a great base for a holiday.

Clean and spacious cottage that is nicely located for trips out and about. Comfortable and added benefit of restaurant on site with good meals at good prices. Would definitely return.

A few minor details could have been sorted and one was very promptly but none really detracted from our stay. The settings on the boiler need sorting as it did not come on in the evenings until 10pm so it got quite chilly then the heating came on at 10pm and then another hour at 3am and then again another hour at 5am. got quite warm while we were supposed to be sleeping. We would go again though.

The cottage was spacious with everything that you need. Even milk and chocolates in the fridge....a lovely touch It's in a lovely little village, very close to a very reasonably priced restaurant. A few minutes walk brings you to a lovely beach which is fantastic for the dogs. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again
