From here, the stairs lead to a snug sitting room with views out over this picturesque village and a modern shower room. The second floor offers two double bedrooms. Outside this charming cottage is a pretty gravelled seating area. Tideswell is a limestone village and makes an ideal base for walking, cycling and climbing. Take a stroll around the village with its array of good pubs, individual curiosity shops and cafes, or enjoy the gentle walks taking in the local ancient history. The spa town of Buxton is just a short drive from your holiday cottage and the beautiful historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are well worth a visit. With so many opportunities for you to enjoy, this is a perfect cottage in a lovely location to holiday at any time of the year.
The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its fine church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as "The Cathedral of the Peak", the village is also noted for its well dressing and carnival wakes. There is excellent walking with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just outside the village. Mam Tor and Castleton are only a few miles away and the popular Spa town of Buxton is within a 15 minute drive. Tideswell has many fine country inns, a chemist, butchers, bakers and much more including a convenient supermarket open daily until 10pm. The pretty little market town of Bakewell is also just a short drive away and well worth a visit.

Well situated near 3 great Pubs (all which serve excellent food) with a local convenience store and Café but a minute or two away which is a must for me due to some disability issues. The cottage itself is on 3 floors which I was aware of prior to booking and although I considered that this would present some small issues for me I wasn't put off and I am so glad I wasn't as I found the stairs to be easily navigable with a little care. I would state at this point though, that for a wheelchair bound customer that this would not be suitable but for me and my family it was perfect. Checking in and out also could not be more convenient as the owners have a great system in place. In a nutshell, a lovely holiday cottage in a great location.
