Karen – 13 Oct 2018
"A lovely place to stay, helpful hosts, fabulous views and great walks straight from the door. Very comfy bed. Wifi was a bit limited but this is a place to get away from it all. Enjoyed having the farm shop and pub in easy walking distance and Gorley Common was great for start and end of day dog walks. The sunsets, sunrises and deer were pretty special too."
William – 10 Sep 2018
"Nice cottage, with nearly everything provided that one would expect. The only negatives were that there was no towel rail in the bathroom and accessing the cottage meant driving along a long, bumpy track. One particularly welcome feature was that we saw a herd of deer out of the cottage window on a couple of days."
Charlotte – 24 Aug 2018
"Lovely cottage in an excellent position for exploring the south coast. Within easy driving distance of all of: Bournemouth, Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton and even Brighton. The lodge itself was well presented and in a secluded location. We can overlook the awful road that leads to and from the cottage as this proved to only slightly impact our stay. The sofa wasn't very comfortable and the WiFi access was poor. The kitchen was well equipped for what we needed, and we made use of some of the games (a great addition). There was an excellent view every morning of the horses, and other wildlife, something that we really appreciated. I feel like the location played a massive part in the enjoyment of our stay."
Brenda – 15 Aug 2018
"The cottage was very nice but the location was not for us. The unmade track up to the cottage was difficult to negotiate. The cottage is in a lovely location for fit people who can go for walks in the forest but we are both quite elderly and are recovering from illness so we had to drive everywhere. The sofa was very low and not very well sprung so as this was the only comfortable seat again not very suitable for us. the shower door over the bath would not swing which made it difficult to access the taps and in bath shower. I suggest that it might be pointed out that the cottage is not suitable for infirm or disabled people."
ANN – 29 Jul 2018
"A lovely cottage with wonderful views. We had several small niggles which would not apply to everyone. Our old dog had trouble with the laminate flooring. My husband could not find a comfortable chair, as all the stools were hard and the couch was too low. It would be nice to have a chair in the bedroom. Well appointed kitchen, but no clingfilm, kitchen roll, washing powder for the washing machine, only decaffeinated coffee, all the kitchen knives were very blunt....small things I know. We have stayed in other cottages where the welcome pack was more generous. We wished that we'd had a 4x4 to navigate the track, which was very bumpy."

"Were there in the heatwave but cottage was cool. Would have appreciated 2comfy garden chairs and a blind at the bathroom window as it looks onto their garden. Otherwise a lovely place. Pot holed private lane a bit damaging for ordinary cars."
Brian – 7 Jul 2018
"not very wheelchair friendly"
Ashley – 3 Jun 2018
"Lovely cottage with fantastic views. If you like walking and wildlife this is a great place to stay. Very peaceful and the owners are friendly and helpful. The pub just down the road is lovely, food great and staff friendly. Would stay again."
Barbara – 28 Apr 2018
"Overall the cottage was fine, unfortunately the” garden “ was a little misleading in that there was no grass the grassed area was roped off and marked private it was indicated so in the cottage information folder but not before! perhaps we should have asked as our dog is one that needs a garden wandering about at 22:00 in the dark is not fun! There has been a tremendous amount rain in the area and the access road (track)to the cottage has suffered severely! Overall the cottage is fine unfortunately we needed that garden others will think it is picky but not in our case!"
KENNETH – 28 Apr 2018
"Very peaceful and that is what was wanted. Just a pity that the unadopted road does not really lend itself to ordinary cars."
phil – 24 Mar 2018
"Fantastic views. Great location. Owners very welcoming . Dog felt at home. Can't fault."
Deborah – 18 Mar 2018
"Second stay at this wounderful cottage. Very helpful owner.Spotless, cosy cottage with everything we needed."
Anne – 26 Feb 2018
"A cosy warm place with a beautiful view. Surrounded by lovely countryside. Perfect for the dog too. Good pub with fabulous food within 10 minutes walk. Cant wait to go again."
Helen – 6 Jan 2018
"Lovely cottage, well equipped, warm and cosy. We liked being able to control our own heating. Friendly couple living on site. Good access to other areas - forest, beaches and local villages and towns. Farm shop within easy walking access. Several local pubs - need your wellies to walk there as so much standing water due to the rain the area has had lately. Appreciated the welcome food pack, especially the prosecco to welcome in the new year!"
