Make your way into the house and up the stairs to the light and bright living room. Take in the contemporary furnishings and vaulted ceilings as you relax on the comfortable sofas with a glass of crisp white wine. Your head chef will happily start dinner in the well-equipped open-plan kitchen/diner. Dine together at the adjoining table, and chat well into the night, highlighting the best bits about your day. Alternatively, take your plates to the shared patio or private balcony to enjoy your evening meal amongst nature. Slip into one of the two sumptuous bedrooms available: one double and one super-king zip-and-link make for a restful night’s sleep. In the morning, take advantage of your surroundings with a dip in the swimming pool, put your feet up in the sauna or steam room or challenge the family to a doubles match on the tennis court.

If you can tear yourself away from the plethora of excellent facilities, then a trip to Pentewan Beach (3.5 miles) has to be on the cards. Work off lots of energy by trying out the watersports available at this sheltered bay, mosey along the near-white sands or simply laze with the waves lapping at your feet. From the beach, you will also find the South West Coast Path, which starts in the heart of the town. Spend time scouting the shops in Cornwall’s capital, Truro (15 miles), and while you’re here, remember to try Cornwall’s famous pasty or cream tea.
