  I had a lovely relaxing stay at Hunters Moon Annexe.

  It was the perfect place to stay whilst looking after Stella a friend’s dog. We both enjoyed the local walks and places of interest. I know the area and it is well placed for visiting Ashbourne, Alton Towers, Belper, Matlock, Stafford and the Peak District. The annexe has everything you could want for a restful relaxing stay, a perfect home from home. There is a garden and private patio for you to use, please bear in mind the garden is not gated so if you have a dog you will need to keep an eye on them. However, this was not a problem for me. The owners Steve and Jane couldn’t be more helpful. They messaged to check I was ok when I was much later arriving than expected due to heavy traffic, such a thoughtful gesture. When I eventually arrived they had put the heating on for me which was much appreciated after my long journey. The next day they checked to make sure everything was ok and that I had settled in. They also gave me some coffee and marmalade which I had forgotten to take. The owners are there if you need them but are not intrusive. I have no hesitation in recommending Hunters Moon Annexe to anyone looking for dog friendly accommodation.

  Just home from a wonderful week away here.

  Farmhouse has everything you need and is a home away from home! Couldn't give anything less than 5 stars. A welcome pack of eggs, milk, bread was gratefully welcome. Kettle went straight on for a cup of tea after our drive and arrival! Furnished to a very high standard, nice outdoor patio area that was south facing. Large driveway and grassy area too. The farmhouse is located at the end of the lane and gives you highest level of privacy and peace. Our children loved the horses, sheep and chickens nearby and enjoyed feeding the horses apples in particular. Located in such a peaceful, beautiful setting we would recommend to anyone of any age group. We did Alton Towers a few days, only a 10 minute drive away. Perfect coming back, putting the fire on and settling down for a cosy evening. A walk through the village takes you to a really good, new park for children too. We've had such a lovely holiday away and look forward to coming back very soon... Hopefully try it in the summer time!

  Owners very welcoming, nice welcoming pack.

  Cottage large did have facilities although some minor adjustments could make all the difference. TV has continuous red line on left of screen. Cushion on sofa needs cleaning after each stay, also smelt of personal sweat. Rug corner turned up on corner, hazard. Cutlery very old and not user friendly with round handles,tray marked and needs replacing. Toaster far to small. There was plenty of utensils. Downstairs bedroom very handy. Bed needs better pillows and could of been accessorised better. Shower unit broken in places and needs attention very tired looking. Would not of hesitated to give a 4star had the the attention for detail been upgraded. Very clean and relaxed environment would not be put off visiting again.

  We had an excellent little break at Barnfields & I'd happily recommend it to my friends.

  Clean, neat & comfortable, are always a great start but the building also has charm & a little quirkiness. A huge, well equipped kitchen, a cozy lounge, a great shower & comfortable beds, everything we needed. The welcome pack of bread, milk & eggs was a lovely gesture, thank you. We had no issue with country smells & for the most part our stay was very peaceful. Normal, daytime noises, were never loud & as holidays are for exploring new places it really wouldn't have worried us what the neighbours did. The nearby market town of Leek was perfect for shopping as was Trentham shopping village (so much better than Stoke on Trent itself). The monkey gardens, also in Trentham, are small but brilliant, I'd urge everyone to visit.

  A lovely holiday accommodation with top quality fittings.

  Comfortable, clean and quiet. Great views to the west. In fact we visited Jodrell Bank on our visit and then realised it’s visible on a clear day. Recommend Jodrell Bank for all ages.The Potteries Museum in Stoke was interesting and has a real Spitfire. If you are into aviation the visitor centre next to Manchester Airports runway is a must. Obviously loads of walks and other things to do. Make sure your car is in good condition lots of long climbs. Also beware of all the cameras and pot holes. All the people of Staffordshire from visitor locations to supermarkets we found were very friendly and helpful. My brother and I both said we’d had a good break.
