Access to a number of walking routes can also be found along this road, and the city centre is only a five minute walk away. Ripon is dominated by a beautiful cathedral, which is open everyday and is well worth spending a couple of hours exploring all that it offers. Also found in Ripon are the Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, craft markets, a number of shops and pubs, specialist cinema, a racecourse, a park and excellent riverside and canal walks. The well-known Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are within walking distance along the banks of the River Skell, and within driving distance are Harrogate, York and both the stunning Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks. A wonderful holiday base in an excellent location, with plenty to see and do at whatever time of year!

The city of Ripon has much to offer visitors - the cathedral, the Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, craft markets, an International Music Festival and Ripon Races. The Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are within walking distance along the River Skell and a few miles away is Lightwater Valley Theme Park. Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens are also nearby. Ripon is ideal for touring the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, not to mention Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.
