  Honeybee Cottage was the perfect haven while we moved house.

  Beautifully clean and it was well stocked with everything you could need to make the stay easy and very comfortable.The welcome pack was a wonderful surprise too, great after a long journey it set you up with a nice cup of tea and snack. The home owner Vicky was really helpful and accommodating and we were really grateful for the text reminder for the refuse calendar over Christmas, it was great to see a house manual with such good instructions included too, no scratching your head wondering how anything worked. The cottage is in a great location overlooking the River Ure with a good walk in to town. Ripon itself has easy access to all routes and well covered on the shopping front. Booths supermarket is a particular treat and there are some lovely small independent shops. The Cathedral is glorious and further afield The Druids Temple was surrounded by great woodland walks and views out over the surrounding countryside. I wish we had had more time in better weather to explore further as the cottage make a great base to head out from but we’ll have to leave that for another time.

  Court Cottage is a beautiful little cottage in an ideal location smack in the middle of Ripon.

  We stayed for a week while our eldest son was singing with his choir in the cathedral all week. I loved the little welcome basket with tea, coffee and biscuits! There is plenty to do in Ripon itself with lots of lovely places to eat (our favourite breakfast was at Oliver’s Pantry, and I had the best steak ever at Portofino for our wedding anniversary). There were plenty of chargers for our electric car nearby. The cottage was really clean with everything you could need. The beds were really comfy. The back yard was secure for our dog. The neighbours were delightful. There was lots to do and see in the surrounding area too; we went to several English heritage / national trust sites, as well as other places. The hosts were very responsive and helpful when messaged, and they left a very helpful information file. The only warning I would give - close the bathroom door when having a hot shower or it sets off the smoke alarm!

  Lovely cottage right in the heart of Ripon close to the beautiful cathedral but not adversely affected by it.

  Parking space outside. Lots of cafes nearby and close to the river and canals for walks. Would probably not go back in the summer because the small yard at the back is very scruffy and uninviting but this might well be because of the time of year and the recent weather. The owner probably smartens it up for the summer. I wrote in the book that overall the cottage was great & ideal for us this time but more up to date local information (not just take away outlets) and a map of the town would be nice because the tourist information is closed in the winter and Smiths didn't have a local map. Also we were surprised that there was only a small one cup caffetier (sp !) although the house sleeps 4 and is advertised for 2. We never drink instant coffee (and very few people we know do from choice) so that was a small problem. We managed to overcome it by buying a tea-strainer and using a jug but not ideal.

  Hope House - A Perfect Yorkshire Retreat 5 stars Hope House is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire countryside.

  As a couple with a small Yorkshire Terrier, we were seeking a peaceful retreat, and Hope House exceeded all expectations. The cottage itself is charming and beautifully maintained. The spacious kitchen/diner was perfect for preparing meals, while the cozy sitting room with its woodburning stove created the ideal ambiance for relaxing evenings. Upstairs, the bedrooms were comfortable and stylish, and the bathrooms were luxurious. We loved exploring the surrounding area. The walks through the Dales were breathtaking, and the nearby village of Kirkby Malzeard offered everything we needed. The Queens Head pub was a particular highlight. Hope House is the perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We can't wait to return! Highly recommend for couples seeking a tranquil getaway.

  A lovely homely little cottage, very clean and well equipped.

  The location is slap bang in the middle of Ripon, so take some ear plugs if you don't want to be disturbed by the cathedral bells every fifteen minutes! Our only criticism would be the main bedroom mattress was far too soft, and sagging. We ended up swapping it for the more comfortable mattress in the other smaller bedroom. Apart from that, a pleasant little holiday home. The elderly neighbours were really lovely and kind. We were getting married half way through our stay, and they insisted on tidying up their garden and our hanging baskets, so I could sit outside sipping bucks fizz whilst having my wedding hair done! Ripon itself is just a joy. Friendly folk, beautiful walks, and lots of good independent eateries and shops.
