Park up on the off-road space provided at the rear of this wonderful abode and make your way inside to begin your stay, kicking off your boots and storing your muddy walking gear in the handy utility upon entry. An action-packed day calls for rest, so flick on the television and enjoy a moment of peace with your favourite show playing on the screen, enveloping the room with the warmth of the gas fire in the cooler months. The kitchen/diner offers a range of contemporary appliances to ensure an enjoyable self-catered experience, including an electric oven and hob to help prepare delicious dishes that can be enjoyed at the nearby table for four. Climbing the staircase, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, a double and a twin, with a family bathroom set across the way, giving guests the choice between a soak in the tub or a quick rinse under the shower head. A moments walk from your doorstep will bring you into the heart of Shap, where you'll find all of your local amenities, including a handy Co-op supermarket, ideal for picking up any last minute essentials, along with a number of pubs, cafes and takeaways for those days you don't feel like doing the cooking. There's a wealth of fascinating history waiting to be explored nearby, such as the 12th century remains of Shap Abbey, idyllically positioned on the banks of the River Lowther, and the National Trust's Keld Chapel, thought to have once been a chantry. Immerse yourself in the great outdoors with an adventure through the Lake District National Park, home to Scafell Pike, the tallest mountain in England, or travel in the opposite direction to take on the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where competitors climb the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough within a 12 hour time frame. The charming linear village of Shap is tucked away in the Eden district of Cumbria. This small village offers all of the essentials, including pubs, shops and a Post Office, along with a swimming pool and a wonderful memorial park. Shap Abbey can be found half a mile from the village, surrounded by the River Lowther and built in 1540 by Henry viii. The Lake District National Park is nearby, as are the charming towns of Ambleside and Windermere.
