This outstanding accommodation provides many personal touches, including its own private hot tub overlooking the grounds, making sure guests have everything they need for a luxury break. The property is within easy walking distance of the village pub and only 3 miles from the quaint fishing town of Ventnor, with its sandy beach and array of restaurants, cafés, bars and local quirky shops.

    The stunning Heritage Coast is within easy reach with endless walking routes and cycle paths, including the famous Tennyson Trail. Open top buses pass through the village stopping at regular intervals allowing you to explore all the breathtaking scenery that the island has to offer. Other attractions in addition to the walking, cycling, riding and sailing that are available, include the famous Needles at Alum Bay, Calbourne Water Mill and Queen Victoria’s residence, Osbourne House.     "Exceptional cottage, in a lovely location, with everything and more you could want. The owners were very helpful, and even provided their paddock and bonfire for us to let off our fireworks. Immaculate, clean and brilliant showers, comfy beds and an amazing welcome pack. Whitwell is well placed to visit anywhere on the island, there is a local shop nearby and a pub just around the corner."

    "Had a wonderful stay however a few points to consider by the owners, no locks on any of the bathroom doors, need more comfortable seating in living room not enough for occupancy, dining metal chairs damaged 2 pairs of leggings of my daughter’s due to having sharp rivots, hot tub would need to be be hotter than 37 c as not fantastic weather went cold very quickly."

    "We spent a wonderful week at S83946 whilst walking the Isle of Wight coastal path. Our hosts Anne and Mike were very helpful providing useful information on places to eat and drink and attractions to see. They went above and beyond by providing us with lifts to start and finish of our walks when required, an unexpected and very helpful and kind thing to do.The cottage itself was everything you could wish for and perfect for the five of us. The bedrooms were spacious with amazingly comfortable beds. The bathrooms were well equipped and pristinely clean. There was an excellent supply of towels for bathroom and separate for hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining area and lounge were very comfortable. There were information leaflets and booklets and a supply of books and games. I'm sure the log burner would be a welcome addition during the winter but we were fortunate to be blessed with excellent weather. The hot tub was an added bonus after a long days walking and was enjoyed by everyone. The red squirrel even put in an appearance on several occasions. The barbecue was easy to use and a great addition during our fortunate spell of warm weather.The local pub served excellent food and drink and was a short walk away from the house. There were other excellent venues only a short drive away with some outstanding food being sampled.We would all highly recommend S83946 and thank Anne and Mike for making our stay so enjoyable."
