The Roost - PRRJ sleeping up to 2 guests

South Downs National Park is close to this barn conversion, with a cosy wood-burning stove, and with extensive footpaths leading to the low weald.
Sympathetically converted, these super barn conversions (refs prrj and prrk), previously the egg store of a renowned chicken farm, stand side by side adjacent to the owners’ home, which is on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Kirdford. Close to the South Downs National Park, these attractive holiday barns are ideal for couples wishing to stroll, cycle, fish, play golf or visit the numerous attractions within easy reach. Foxleigh Farm Barns has close access to an extensive network of footpaths, leading to the unspoilt part of the low weald, a haven for birds and wildlife. The quaint village of Petworth is 5 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown designed gardens and parkland, where many functions and events can be enjoyed during the summer months. The charming small town of Midhurst, famous for polo at Cowdray Park is also a short drive, as are Billingshurst, Haslemere and Guildford. Goodwood, with its motor racing and horse racing, Fontwell races, West Dean Gardens, Parham House, The Weald, Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance, as is the cathedral city of Chichester with its extensive shopping and tea rooms, festival theatre and harbour tours. Alternatively, the town of Arundel with its famous castle and cathedral, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust are both well worth a visit. The Witterings and other beaches are a half-hour’s drive and numerous golf courses are within easy reach. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
4 steps to entrance. Living room with wood-burning stove/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. Cloakroom with boot store and toilet. Turning stairs to first floor: Galleried twin bedroom with zip and link beds (can be 6ft double) and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

"Lovely cottage in a very pretty area. Plenty of local walks and places to visit nearby. Received a warm welcome from the owner with milk, wine and eggs. Visitors may need to be aware of aeroplane noise as Gatwick Airport isn’t too far away."
    Sue – 22 Oct 2018
"We loved The Roost - beautiful location under a gorgeous old oak tree, modern and clean, excellent location - close to Chichester, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Arundel Castle, the Weald and Downland Museum and the lovely South Downs. Good size well-equipped kitchen, comfy bed. Perfect for 2 people."
    Ali – 30 Sep 2018
"The cottage was clean, warm and equipped with all we needed. Had some lovely days out, good walks and great food."
    Belinda – 2 Sep 2018
"What a delightful place.Quiet location.Inside is absolutely immaculate.Elaine the owner is so welcoming, helpful and friendly.Well equipped with loads of extras ,not just the basics, including liquid handwash in cloakroom and bathroom, towels, hairdryer, tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid.Elaine seems to have thought of everything. The welcome pack of flowers, eggs, milk and bottle of wine is a nice touch. Bed is HUGE and very comfy. There is a suggestions book in the cottage and see from previous entries that quite a lot of guests suggestions have been implemented by the owner including, changes to shower rail, addition of radio,a mop and bucket, extra bedroom mirror and outside mat. There is also a folder in cottage with information/suggestions of local pubs ,dog walks etc .We had our small dog with us and the courtyard garden was fine for him, however would suggest if you have a larger dog the ajoining property The Coop would probably suit you better as has a larger garden area. All in all a wonderful place that we would definitely recommend."

    Sue – 7 May 2018
"If you are looking for peace, quiet and relaxation then you couldn't choose a better location that the Roost. It is situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside surrounded by fields, woods and horses. Fiona (the owner) welcomes you to your retreat with eggs from her hens, fresh flowers adorning the table and a bottle of chilled wine. The Roost is immaculate- the cleanliness is outstanding, the decor is beautiful and the cupboards and drawers are full of everything you might need during your stay including torches and a sewing kit!I only have praise for this cottage and from reading the comments book I realise that I am certainly not the only one. I was truly sad to leave and return home and would most certainly return without hesitation. PS If you have a dog they will have a wonderful stay in the lap of luxury- the local walks are phenomenal too."
    Elizabeth – 21 Apr 2018
