  This is an absolutely amazing house!

  Everything is done so well and each room is a delight. It is so spacious and comfortable. It was completely clean and everything was well maintained. Some reviews have mentioned the steep walk down to Ironbridge and it is true that there is a very definite incline...it didn't trouble us at all and we have stayed in this area before so knew what to expect. It may not be ideal for someone less mobile but there are very few places in Ironbridge that have level access. The upside of the slope is the fantastic views of the gorge from every window of the house. You can see clearly down to the bridge and everything was green and beautiful - the views made the house even more special. Parking is also always a bit of a challenge in the narrow streets around Ironbridge - we took a small car and the garage at the house worked perfectly for us, but there would have been on street parking not too far away every time anyway. All in all, we loved this house and I was sorry when it was time to leave. Next time we are back in the area, it will definitely be my first choice of places to stay.

  If you want to explore Ironbridge Gorge and all it has to offer, it is hard to imagine that you could find a better property than Sleepy Hollow for location and comfort.

  All the museums are within walking distance. We only used our car once during the week, that was to visit the excellent RAF museum at Cosford. The cottage is very well equipped and the welcome pack that was left for us was the best that we have ever had in all the many cottage holidays we have had. We were lucky with the weather and it was very pleasant to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and watch the river drift past. We have a small car, Fiat 500, so parking by the cottage wasn't an issue for us. The alternative parking at Jackfield Tile Museum is only a very short walk away if you have a large vehicle. We could only think of one improvement. A thermostatic shower fitting with a rail that lets you adjust the height of the shower head. We felt that we wasted a lot of water, and gas, getting the shower temperature right every time we used it. One of the best cottages we have stayed in, and a credit to owners Claire and Colin.

  This is a fabulous property in an amazing location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  The property is well equipped and comfortable as well as cosy. The furniture in the lounge is different to that in the photographs but, in my opinion, it is more cosy now. When we stayed it was decorated for Christmas and the christmas tree was stunning. Although parking and manoeuvring can be tricky and the road is steep, this is clearly explained in the listing so you are aware of what to expect. We would have found cooker instructions useful but there didn't seem to be any. Also, one of the glass cooking dishes was badly chipped on the handle and one of our party received a bad cut. In addition, one of the stair handrails is loose and needs repairing. We do appreciate that owners are not always made aware of such issues and are usually quick to respond and address them. Having said all that, we would definitely still recommend the property and stay again as it is really lovely and there's lots to see and do in the area.

  We had a lovely stay at the Olde Drill House with our French bulldog.

  The accommodation is surprisingly big and the location to the Main Street is ideal. You can see the bridge from the window. We found that the owners were very hands off so if we’d had a problem, there was no contact number which we’ve not experienced before. If you are a light sleeper, you may struggle here as the church is right next to the property and the bells chime very randomly throughout the night. There is no garden so our dog had to go to the toilet on the road outside the front door which wasn’t ideal especially as next door told me she has an aggressive Rottweiler in her house which may “go for” our dog so we felt we needed to be very careful. The garage is tiny so we had to park up the road which is a very steep hill. We decided not to use the car as it felt like a hassle with the narrow, hilly roads. It was a lovely break away and we would definitely visit Ironbridge again.

  The cottage offered great living space with well equipped kitchen and good size dining area as well as comfortable lounge.

  The bedrooms however were a tight squeeze but hey this is an old cottage and added to the character. The stair were fine and easily manageable. In November with cooler weather the cottage was warm and pleasant to stay. It was a shame we could not utilize the garden area which looked inviting due to the time of year. Parking was not an issue although the approach down an unmade lane was interesting and thank goodness we did not have to walk the lane as there was a short path from the cottage up to the road. Good walks from the cottage and handily placed for local pubs who do good food in both directions. Great location for exploring Ironbridge Gorge and the surrounding area and recommend a visit to Wroxeter roman city then onto Shrewsbury. Also Much Wenlock is a good trip with a visit to the Priory as well as Buildwas Abbey close by. For those energetic, a walk up The Wrekin is worthwhile for the views.
