About this property

With the advantage of an expansive garden as well as an impressive terrace, the 4-bedroom Villa Raika makes a great base for a family holiday. Located less than 15 minutes’ drive from Omiš and around 25 minutes from Split, this modern property enjoys beautiful mountain views and offers an outdoor pool and playground.

The spacious outdoor area is one of the highlights of the property. As well as a large, step-access swimming pool you have a charming covered dining area with seating for eight, a sun deck with lounger chairs and a barbecue area. The gardens offer lots of space to play, as well as a trampoline, wooden playhouse and a badminton or volleyball net. In addition, younger children can enjoy another playroom filled with toys which is inside.

The modern interiors have been designed with great style and taste. Walk through the doors from the outdoor dining terrace and you have its indoor counterpart, alongside a comfortable, air-conditioned living room with large sofas and TV. The kitchen is just a few steps away, providing a range of appliances and a table with stool seating.

Three spacious bedrooms on the upper floor have access to a balcony and offer large beds and plenty of storage space. There is a family bathroom on this level shared by these rooms. The fourth bedroom is downstairs, behind the kitchen and offers a sofa-bed for two. Another bathroom can be found on this floor.

Surrounded by Mediterranean plants and fruit trees, this property enjoys a natural setting, offering privacy and seclusion. Nearby Omiš is well worth a visit if you enjoy water-sports, as there are plenty to enjoy on the River Cetina. With historic fortresses and churches, this town is full of charm and character. In the direction of Split you will come across numerous lovely beaches, and when you arrive in the city there is an endless list of attractions worth seeing, such as the breathtaking Diocletian’s Palace.

Omiš is particularly famous for two things. One is the high-adrenaline activities which take place on and around the River Cetina (including rafting, canyoning, kayaking and zip-lining), and the other is pirates. The town’s piratanical history is the inspiration for all sorts of events and attractions. Pirate nights and summer re-enactments of past battles are some of the highlights of the Omiš pirate calendar.

The Old Town of Omiš is picturesque and notable for its impressive fortresses. The Fortica and Mirabella have incredible views over the ocean and out towards the neighbouring islands. The town hosts a good number of cultural events throughout the year. The most notable is perhaps the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas brings this traditional form of Croatian music to the streets in summer. The sound of this style of gentle harmony reverberating around St Michael’s Square is something quite unique, and one not to miss.

The town is also within a 35-minute drive of Croatia’s second city, Split, making it easy to combine the two in one trip. With Diocletian’s Palace, Saint Domnius’ Cathedral and many more beautiful buildings, it rivals many a capital when it comes to history. There are plenty of cultural high-spots here too, such as The Split Gallery of Fine Arts, the Archaeological Museum and the Mestrovic Gallery, dedicated to the work of the country’s greatest sculptor.

Including fragrant pine forests and botanical gardens, the green spaces of Marjan Forest Park are another great reason to visit. In addition, look out for the region’s largest aquarium, and learn more about the creatures that inhabit the Adriatic Sea – which happens to be right outside.
